It is recommended to use a minimum of 5x magnification due to the possibility of damaging the item being cleaned.
This set consists of two double-sided pencils
The first pencil consists of:
- The first tip is made of a mixture of steel wool, graphite and silver fibres. The tip is specially designed so that its use does not threaten the patina. It lasts much longer than an ordinary pencil for cleaning. It is enough for hundreds of hours of work. We do not sharpen this point with a sharpener but use fine sandpaper for this.
- The second tip is a scalpel made of tungsten carbide, which makes it very hard, allowing you to remove stubborn deposits. It is recommended to use magnification when using this tip, as the hardness of the scalpel means there is a chance of scratching the cleaned object or damaging the patina!!!
The second pencil consists of:
- The first tip is a blunt needle for precise work when cleaning text, figures and portraits.
- The second ‘brush’ is a refillable steel wool 000 pencil for removing dirt and polishing/polishing the object.
